Born in Sudan, my family and I immigrated to the United States when I was five years old to pursue better opportunities. Despite facing numerous challenges, I persevered and obtained degrees in Environmental Science and Health from NC State University, and Health Education from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Sudan's rich history and culture deeply influence my resilient spirit, as I embrace my heritage with pride and allow it to inspire my work in serving others.
Community care is at the heart of my work and is evident in my work with Mind the GAHP. Established in 2018, my mission with Mind the GAHP is to make mental health resources more valuable and accessible through evidence-based programming. Having witnessed firsthand the social and health challenges in various marginalized communities, I am committed to addressing them through proactive, skill-based initiatives.
An advocate for mental health, I have over ten years of experience facilitating workshops on intersectional health and wellness topics. The Bloomberg School of Public Health has advanced my expertise in public health, health education, and management, enabling me to design comprehensive curricula that meet specific goals, educational requirements, and standards. My dedication lies in making wellness accessible, equitable, and supported by all.
I am honored to bring empathy and inclusivity into the organizations I collaborate with, guiding them to navigate and resolve challenges. Witnessing individuals heal, grow, and succeed brings me a profound sense of fulfillment.
